While it’s a perfect opportunity to learn more about the role and company, it also shows the interviewer that you’re invested in the company – ticking a box that could potentially increase your chances of getting to the next round. So, what should you be asking? We asked Selfridges’ Head of Recruitment, Sharlene John, to share what the best five questions to ask at the end of an interview are and why.
Do you feel like I have answered everything fully, or is there anything you would like me to answer in more detail?
This is a good “wrap up” question that helps to close the interview nicely. It shows you’re confident enough to discuss and address your weaknesses and gives you to the chance to highlight any areas you may have missed.
What does progression look like for me here?
This shows you’re interested in building a career with them and developing yourself within the role, the answer will also tell you how the organisation invests in their staff.
What are the biggest challenges facing this role/team?
This question gives you the opportunity to see what challenges the business / team are facing and Its good to hear how they will address those challenges. As a follow up question, you could ask how your role supports in overcoming the challenges?
